what is an RDN?
Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) are your most credible source of nutrition information. An RDN is a food and nutrition expert who has completed a Bachelor of Science degree and/or a Master of Science degree in nutrition. These programs of study include coursework in the areas of food and nutrition sciences, food service management, biochemistry, human anatomy and physiology.
RDNs also must complete an internship, or go through an approved coordinated undergraduate program, including supervised practice with the last two years of college.
Following this education and practicum, all dietitians must pass a national board examination before they can receive the credentials RDN (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist).
RDNs are required to complete continuing education courses regularly in order to maintain their registration.
